Brief history
Cantacuzino Castle is located on the site of an ancient hunting house that had endured since sec. XVIII and served as stopover of Cantacuzino family on it’s way to Brasov.
Cantacuzino Castle is built in Neo-Romanian style, the only Romanian style of architecture history which has revived the tradition, strengthened the origins and connected them to the present.
Neo-Romanian architecture style is probably the most extensive heritage which Romania gave to the world culture. The facade is made out of carved stone and brick clad in interior.
The shape of a quadrangle, with its southern side open, the castle fits perfectly into the landscape and covers an area of 3148 square meters, the yard and garden covers an area of 3.5 hectares. The whole domain includes also 970 hectares of forest.
